COOKBOOK COLLECTION.  Helen Todd is known throughout the Mid-South and across the country for her inventory of cookbooks.  Helen began her cookbook collecting at an early age when her Mother worked for  TVA with the  Home Extension Services.  When school was out each day, Helen would go to her Mother's office to "hang out" and watch the Home Economists  test  recipes, and energy efficient appliances. Helen later pursued a B. S degree in Education and Masters at Memphis State University. She became a Teacher with Memphis City Schools  teaching students, recipes, home living,  and life skills. Helen also worked for the local Memphis newspaper, the Commercial Appeal as "Sara Kaye", writing recipes, local tea parties and social engagements.  Each week, Helen enjoyed answering questions about favorite recipes, brunches, parties or simple home cooking skills. As a result of this love, cookbook collecting, review of recipes and food preparation, the cookbook collection grew. Helen loves to share cookbook ideas, recommendations and  read the "old recipes" to adapt to current cooking for her husband, friends and family.
